I overheard someone mention their relative drank way too much beer on a daily basis, and their physician said their diabetes was caused by excessive daily beer-drinking. Is this true?

I don’t know about beer per se, but beer has plenty of calories, so if this relative drank a lot, he or she was probably overweight. (Drunks don’t usually go jogging.)

There’s a definite link between being overweight and diabetes.

The carbs in alcohol lower your sugar level if you dont go too low no food or drink will give you diabetes.
